Is Hyderabad Vacant After Sankranthi Exodus?

Sankranti season is usually regarded as other profitable all sectors. Particularly, the kind of outbound traffic that is registered during the Sankranti season is indication of the settler population leaving the state for festival.In this context, the latest developments and videos on social media have been indicating that a large population associated with Hyderabad city has left the premises. It was reported that Hyderabad got nearly vacated during Sankranti festival season.

But in reality, it turned out to be that the Sankranti festivities have had a small impact on the Hyderabad city, traffic and population, but at large, the situation largely remains the same. Except for regular school & college traffic, everything is the same. Even most offices are functioning normally.

A few lakh cars off the Hyderabad roads doesn’t mean the city is empty. This is a Megacity now with more than a crore people living here and 1-2 percent going away for festival doesn’t make much difference.After reading news stories & media reports like these went to Kukatpally yesterday afternoon and it was full. Yes, there are a wee bit less madness on the roads but it is still the same insanely crowded Kukatpally. A cousin went to shop and gave up & got back home because every place is so full! It is a stretch to say that Hyderabad is empty when settler dominant areas like Kukatpally & Manikonda are still crowded.
