By: Shanaz B Syed | 3 Oct 2026 3:55 PM ISTOn September 21, a girl named Sharon Nikitha was murdered in an OYO Hotel at Madhapur. Then on 29th September, a film associate director killed his girlfriend, B Sireesha, at an SR Nagar OYO hotel. Then on October 2nd, one Srijana was killed; this time also her boyfriend who is untraceable, turns out to be the culprit. So what’s happening at OYO Hotels?
In fact, a Supreme Court ruling allowing any unmarried couple to check into a hotel with their original ID cards, like Aadhaar, has let almost every hotel check in any man and woman as long as they're over the eligible age. But that freedom is being grossly misused these days as some culprits are sketching out plans to take their girlfriends/wives to Oyo Hotels, the cheapest form of stay, and then kill them there. This is actually a lack of ethics, morals, and values, as killing other human beings is nothing but animalistic behaviour.
Though laws are strong and the punishments are severe, with almost all the culprits likely to go behind bars for 15 years easily, the perpetrators are still breaking the code of conduct. Well, education is needed, and women also need to be more vigilant, even if their friends, boyfriends, or husbands ask them to come to a hotel. Though the investigations are ongoing, prima facie it’s revealed that all the killers are known to the woman for years, and that’s what makes it tough to believe.
