Meanwhile, here’s the list of regulations set by the Hyderabad police department ahead of the coming new year celebrations.
The Cyberabad Traffic Police have issued a comprehensive traffic advisory ahead of New Year 2025, announcing strict enforcement measures from 8 PM onwards on December 31 to ensure public safety and responsible celebrations.
Authorities have made it clear that traffic rules will be implemented rigorously across the Cyberabad limits, with special focus on preventing drunken driving and traffic violations.
Cab, taxi and auto drivers have been instructed to wear proper uniforms and carry all valid documents at all times. Refusing passengers, charging excess fares or misbehaving with commuters will attract legal action under the Motor Vehicles Act.
Bars, pubs and clubs have been warned against allowing intoxicated customers to drive. Managements will be held legally responsible for abetment if drunk patrons are permitted to take the wheel. Establishments are advised to educate customers and arrange safe transportation options.
For the general public, special surveillance cameras will monitor wrong side driving, signal jumping, over speeding, rash driving, helmet violations and illegal parking. Drunk and drive checks will be conducted extensively, and vehicles will be detained if documents are not produced. Playing loud music, driving without number plates and minor driving will lead to seizure and prosecution.
Police have reiterated that drunk driving will invite heavy fines, imprisonment and suspension or cancellation of driving licences. In fatal cases, arrests will be made under BNS 2023. Citizens are urged to celebrate responsibly, drive safely and return home alive.
