By: Tupaki Desk | 2 April 2026 9:56 AM ISTFor many decades, Hyderabad has been having the reputation of being one of the most culturally gifted cities when it comes to food and cuisine. But this is going down the wrong path in the recent as there have been several complaints about the quality of the food here.
In a shocking food safety incident in Hyderabad, authorities uncovered a large scale meat adulteration racket that raises serious concerns for public health.
Officials seized nearly 100 quintals of rotten meat from two warehouses operated by a man identified as Afroz. Investigations revealed that dead goats were allegedly brought in from other states and stored in unhygienic conditions before being processed for sale.
What is more alarming is the method used to push this spoiled meat into the food chain. The rotten stock was reportedly treated with chemicals to mask the decay and make it appear fresh.
This altered meat was then supplied to several hotels and eateries across the city. Such practices not only violate food safety laws but also pose a severe risk of infections, food poisoning, and long term health complications for unsuspecting customers.
This incident is a strong reminder that people in Hyderabad must be extremely cautious about where they choose to eat.
Street side stalls, low cost eateries, and even some restaurants may not always maintain proper sourcing standards. Consumers should pay attention to hygiene, smell, taste, and overall cleanliness before ordering food.
Authorities are continuing their investigation, but public awareness is equally important. Being careful about outside food, preferring trusted places, and reporting suspicious practices can help prevent such dangerous adulteration from spreading further in the city.
