Telangana Voting Fiasco: Mahesh, Rajamouli, Vijay D Get Notices!

It is already known that the central election commission of India has been carrying out an intense procedure when it comes to validating the existing votes in the country.

A special revision in the name of SIR is being held across the country to validate each and every single vote. This is to eliminate the cross voting and double voting procedure in the country.

Now, several prominent personalities from Hyderabad figure in the Election Commission’s list of electors issued notices after publication of the draft rolls under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).

The notices cite discrepancies such as name mismatch, parent-name mismatch and failure to map the elector with the previous SIR records.

The film personalities on the list include director SS Rajamouli, actors Mahesh Babu and his wife Namrata, Venkatesh Daggubati and his daughters, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Vijay Deverakonda and his brother Anand Deverakonda.

The list also features former India cricketers VVS Laxman and Mithali Raj, national badminton coach Pullela Gopichand and badminton player Saina Nehwal.

Their inclusion has drawn attention to the scale of discrepancies in the electoral-roll verification exercise.

Considering the fact that even VIPs are facing this situation with regard to the validation of votes, then one can only imagine the situation of the common folk as they will have to be very active about upholding their voting right.

This comes shortly after around 72,00,000 votes in revision due to the recertification done by the election commission. It has to be seen where this saga would ultimately end up in the near future.
