Hyderabad Not To Be Common Capital From Tomorrow!

June 2nd has a lot of significance in modern history as it marks the bifurcation of the Telugu states. The status quo of Andhra Pradesh which is the first state in the country to be formed on a linguistic basis was changed with this as we have two Telugu states now.

The demand to have a special state for Telangana was achieved on the 2nd of June in 2014. As the state was divided with Hyderabad as the capital, Andhra Pradesh was left without a capital. With this, Hyderabad was made the common capital of the two states for a period of ten years.

The common capital was promised by the AP Bifurcation Act due to the state bifurcation. Time flew very fast and the ten-year tenure was completed. Today is the last date for this and from tomorrow Hyderabad will not be the common capital anymore.

Hyderabad has been the capital of the AP for a few decades. Initially AP had Kurnool as the capital. But the Princely state of Hyderabad and AP were merged and Hyderabad was made the capital city and this has been the status quo since then. But Hyderabad will not be our common capital anymore.

As Hyderabad was the capital city in the common state as well, we had many offices here. When the state was bifurcated the offices slowly started to move to Andhra Pradesh.

When Telangana was created many raised doubts on whether the state can be successfully run or not. But Telangana proved everyone wrong and it is one of the big players in various sectors including IT.

Despite the state bifurcation, we can see many people from Andhra Pradesh living here. During the AP elections, we saw empty roads in many areas. Now the city will lose the common capital tag from tomorrow which will be tough to digit for many.
