By: Tupaki Desk | 13 Dec 2023 10:45 AM GMTAs a result of the powershift in Telangana, the government changed and we have been seeing many changes. Be it the name change of Pragathi Bhavan or the special focus on the Telangana State Public Service Commission(TSPSC), quick developments are taking place in the youngest state.
A few top officials were also appointed by the new government in the state. Heads of three commissionerates were announced the other day who took charge. 1994 batch officer Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy took charge as the Hyderabad CP.
After the new appointment, he held a press briefing. Speaking to the media he expressed a special message to the film industry. He spoke extensively on how to fight drug abuse. He said that if there is no demand then the supply would come down.
“We got to know that drug abuse is high in the Film Industry. Industry people will have their own chambers and we will hold meetings with them on this issue. Certain people and circles are using drugs at parties. As there is a demand, there is supply. If there is no demand, then there will be no supply,” the CP said.
“How to make sure that there is no demand, by educating them.If they doubt listen, we will punish them of course. There is law and we will catch them. But first we are focusing on making people understand. I am asking industry people to conduct meetings to stop this. You Please stop this. Our city should be clean and livable. It is very dangerous thing. My request is that if any such incident happens and get support, bigwigs should take initiative to stop this. It’s not that everyone is like that. There will be good and bad everywhere,” the CP added.
In his first briefing after taking charge, the new CP addressed the big menace of drug abuse and the measures that needs to be taken to fight the trend.
