A comparison of luxury car prices before and after the expected duty reductions shows massive savings for Indian buyers. Several premium car brands that were earlier priced far beyond the reach of many customers could now become significantly more affordable.
The BMW 3 Series, which earlier cost around 72 lakh rupees, is now estimated to be priced at about 45 lakh rupees, offering a saving of 27 lakh.
Mercedes E Class also sees a sharp drop, with prices coming down from 90 lakh to nearly 58 lakh, resulting in savings of 32 lakh. Audi models show even bigger benefits. A model that earlier cost 1.1 crore rupees is now estimated at 72 lakh, saving buyers around 38 lakh.
In the high performance segment, the Porsche 911 shows one of the largest reductions. Its estimated price falls from 2.8 crore to 1.6 crore, giving a massive saving of 1.2 crore. BMW M4 Competition drops from 1.5 crore to 85 lakh, saving 65 lakh.
Audi RS Q8 sees a reduction of nearly 1 crore, while the Mercedes AMG G63 drops from 3.6 crore to 2.1 crore, saving about 1.5 crore.
Overall, the comparison highlights how reduced import duties could transform the luxury car market in India by making premium vehicles far more accessible.
