While tech experts like Narayana Murthy and others are advocating elongated working schedules in India lasting up to 70 hours plus per week, other group of individuals are making a completely different proposition altogether.
Now there is a parallel discussion on the kind of European style that is observed in working lifestyle.
An Indian origin software engineer who had been working in Germany for the last four years has made people debate on what’s right for the working and leisurely lives.
According to the Indian original software engineer who has been staying in Germany for the last four years, life slows down in Europe after 6 p.m. Work is over, and people actually go back to living their lives.
“But when I was in India and met friends, they were still mentally at work, checking their phones, replying to messages, eating quickly, and then leaving.
But in Europe, people sit in cafes for hours, sipping one drink slowly, having deep conversations, enjoying the weather, ordering a little food, and simply spending time with each other. Nobody is constantly on their phone." She said.
Value Europeans actually prefer to live their lives outside the places of work and enjoy their lives. Indian working system is completely opposite as people are occupied with their jobs, even after the office hours.
