In the meanwhile, there is this growing conflict with Pakistan, which has been nurturing and harbour terrorism activities for a long time now. This has resulted in a complete cut-off in the diplomatic ties between India and Pakistan.
India has even announced that they are going to cut off the Indus water treaty between the two countries. This has now triggered a very serious reaction from Pakistan and here is what they have to say on the same.
Pakistan's Climate Change Minister Musadik Malik said Islamabad would cut off those hands that sought to claim Pakistan's share of water.
On a related note, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar insisted the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty remains legally binding and cannot be suspended unilaterally.
The remarks come after India placed the treaty in abeyance following the 2025 Pahalgam terror attack, maintaining that the agreement will remain suspended until Pakistan ends support for cross-border terrorism.
The Indian administration in New Delhi has also called the decades-old treaty outdated and unsuited to present-day realities. This is a very strong decision from the central administration of India, and it is evident that Pakistani is having to face the consequences for the same.
