Earlier, the same suspect had shot a woman, believed to be his companion, in the neck while she sat in a car with a child.
By: Tupaki Desk | 6 Oct 2025 10:34 AM ISTIt was only very recently that an Indian origin model owner named Chandra Nagamallaiah was brutally murdered by an illegal immigrant. This incident sent horror down the spines of Indian community in the United States.
And now we have another such incident. An Indian-origin motel owner, Rakesh Ehagaban, aged 51, was tragically shot dead in the United States. The incident occurred when Rakesh stepped out of his motel to check on a disturbance in the parking lot.
Reports state that he approached the suspect, Stanley Eugene West, 37, and asked, “Are you alright, bud?” In response, the man suddenly pulled out a gun and shot Rakesh in the head, killing him instantly.
Earlier, the same suspect had shot a woman, believed to be his companion, in the neck while she sat in a car with a child. Despite her severe injuries, she managed to drive to a nearby auto service center and was rushed to a hospital in critical condition.
After the shooting, West fled in a U-Haul van, leading to a police chase and shootout in East Hills, Pittsburgh. During the encounter, a detective was injured, and the suspect was also shot before being taken into custody.
This shocking incident has once again raised concerns about the safety of Indian-origin motel owners in the U.S., following the recent murder of another Indian motel manager in Texas. Authorities continue to investigate the motive behind the brutal attack.
