Just Trump Things: Indian Man Detained Over Skin Colour?
Today the United States might be one of the most problematic countries for international immigration population.
By: Tupaki Desk | 9 Sept 2026 12:19 PM ISTToday the United States might be one of the most problematic countries for international immigration population. Back in the day, even five years ago, the United States was very accommodating for the Indian population as well.
This is one of the fundamental reasons why several Indians who travelled the United States many years ago had settled and comfortable positions and are leading very good lifestyle now.
However, that is not even remotely the case now as Donald Trump has started to crack down on every single opportunity against the international immigration and particularly the Indian population.
For instance, we have the case of a new case involving an Indian origin, entrepreneur named Neal Bakshi. This man identify to be an Indian origin, entrepreneur in the United States and he had done several projects to the United States economy as well.
However, when this individual was reportedly returning from a trip to Greenland, he was detained by the United States immigration authorities.
He immediately climate that the United States authorities have detained him based on his skin colour. He pointed out that he is a resident of the United States and has a green card there as well while he holds an active passport issued by the country.
The only logical explanation for the detaining of this individual is that he claims that the immigration authorities might have profiled him based on his skin colour.
This is perhaps a reflection of the ongoing scenario in the United States, where immigration authorities are doing everything they can to identify and trouble the Indian population in particular.
Recently, we saw the case of social activist of Indian origin, also getting detained in the United States despite having a green card and being a resident for 27 years. If this is the situation of green card holders and United States residence, one can only imagine the situation of the temporary visa holders in the USA.
