This story involves a couple of Indian students who have reportedly been swept away in the sea and a search operation is under way to grab their whereabouts.
According to reports, two Bay Area college students, Harshita Nair (21), a student at UC Berkeley, and Mahial Sran (20), a student at San Jose State University, tragically lost their lives after being swept into the Pacific Ocean near the Santa Cruz County coastline in California.
The incident reportedly occurred on June 10 near Bonny Doon Beach, where authorities believe the two friends were near a rocky area known as the Keyhole when ocean conditions suddenly changed.
The area is known for powerful waves, rising tides, and rapidly changing conditions. This is the reason why this is one of the most dangerous areas to get down in the sea, but these two students who were aware of the same happened to be there at this point.
Emergency crews launched a large-scale rescue operation after receiving reports that two women had been swept into the ocean. More details regarding the current position of these two Indian students will be coming out once the operations are completed.
