What A Sight! Indian Man Wins Citizenship With bravery!

Generally, several countries have been imposing restrictions on the Indian community individuals in the recent past. But now you are hearing a heart warming, story of an Indian origin man, who has won Romanian citizenship with his act of bravery.

In January, in the city of Craiova in Romania, a 5-year-old girl fell into the water when the ice broke after she got off her sled and ran onto the frozen lake.

At that moment, 47-year-old Indian-origin construction worker Vipan Kumar, who was out for a walk, spotted the child and jumped into the icy water without a second thought.

While Kumar was trying to reach the child using a sled-like tool on the ice, even though part of the ice broke, he managed to grab the little girl and keep her above water until the rescue teams arrived.

Kumar and the little girl, who were taken to the hospital by the teams that arrived at the scene, were reported to have stable health conditions.

Local Mayor Lia Olguta Vasilescu announced that Kumar would be awarded honorary citizenship to honor his courageous act.

Kumar, who has been working in Romania's construction sector since 2025, also earned the admiration of the company he works for with this behavior and the company plans to send Kumar to India so he can see his family.

Along with that, the local authorities have granted Romanian citizenship to Kumar, which is a very generous act and would enhance the reputation of the Indian community abroad.
