The military holds good importance for any country at any given point of time. In the current era where no one can predict which nation will wage war, the Military is very important. We have seen how Russia started the war at Ukraine and how the Israel–Hamas war is going on.
This speaks volumes about the importance the Military holds. Now Global Firepower which tracks the military developments across the nation and ranks the militaries came up with the ranks for various militaries. In the 2024 rankings for various militaries, Global Firepower ranked the United States at the top. Russia and Dragon country China were ranked second and third.
India was ranked in the fourth position. In total the firm observed as many as 145 nations and came up with the rankings. To rank the nations the firm considered various aspects like the number of troops the military has, resources, financial stability, and geographical location.
It is no wonder that India is in the top five positions. Over the decades Indian military went through a lot of transformation and showed its strength. We can cite examples like Surgical Strikes, Galwan Clashes and face-off with the Chinese army in Doklam.
The braveness of our troops is one thing and the new equipment coming into the forces. The budget for the forces has also been increased and the latest equipment is being provided to the forces. Besides weapons used by the armed forces, fighter jets are being roped in as additional protection.
Besides this, India is also focusing on made-in-India fighter jets. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) designed Tejas Fighter jets and Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a ride of the jets. The fighter jets might also be exported to other nations if the deals are finalized.
