Aman Sehrawat won a Bronze and with the medal, he broke the record by PV Sindhu to become the youngest Indian athlete to win a medal. In the semi-final bout, he lost the match and won a Bronze.
More than his Bronze glory, his weight loss journey is getting all the attention. As per the media reports he lost as many as 4.6 kilograms in just a few hours. We have to say that he had a miraculous journey to shed over 4 kilos.
He represented the country in the 57 kg freestyle. He was 61.5 kgs and had to lose weight. He lost as much as 4.6 kilograms in 10 hours. He took hot baths and sweated it out hard on the treadmill. He reportedly took hot water with lemon and honey as food.
This is the second time an Indian athlete had issues with weight. While he had succeeded, another athlete could not succeed and was disqualified. It is known that Vinesh Phogat was disqualified from the finals due to slight overweight as she was just 100 kilograms more than the prescribed weight.
She had a haircut and a small portion of blood was also removed. However, she could not make it and was disqualified. She then moved the Court of Arbitration for Sports which said that it would look into the case before the sports end.
