But it was a very big bad day for India and its athletes as a few hot favorites were knocked out of the games in a single day.
Thursday gave us many heartbreaks as the athletes were eliminated. The athletes who were eliminated include Star Badminton PV Sindhu too. It was not their day and they had to taste defeat.
PV Sindhu: The star Badminton player carried a lot of hopes for an Olympic medal. Unfortunately, she could not meet the expectations and had an early exit. In Round 16 PV Sindhu faced China’s He Bing Jiao. The Chinese player dominated the game and defeated PV Sindhu which made her exit the Olympics.
Another heartbreak came with Satwik Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty's defeat. They reached the Quarterfinals stage and fans expected a medal from them. Sadly they tasted defeat and they were eliminated from the Paris Olympics in the men's doubles category.
Telangana boxer Nikhat Zareen who represented India in the women’s 50 kg category carried a lot of expectations. She is a two-time champion and there are hopes on her to take the Medal count further. The boxer also lost Round 16 and was eliminated from the Olympics.
After the early exit, PV Sindhu said that she made a few mistakes and they cost the game. She said that she would have won the first game and she lost the match as the opponent started to increase the lead.
It was shooting which made the country win the medals. India won three medals and all of them came from the same category.
