Indian Students Granted Visas In Big Numbers This Year!

Students who want to pursue higher studies and get a big exposure to a wide range of opportunities prefer the United States for various reasons. Despite the growing gun violence trend, students are showing interest in the US and the numbers are picking up massively. India is no exemption to this.

When the Covid pandemic broke out the visa appointments and process was halted. After things became normal the process was resumed and the Consulates gave their best efforts in granting the visas and completing the process. All these factors are resulting in the visa numbers seeing big heights.

As an example of this, the US State Department said that an all-time record of visas were issued to the Indian students by the embassy and consulates in India. This is from October 2022 through September 2023. More than 10 million nonimmigrant visas were issued worldwide during the same period.

To shed light on the massive jump in the visas issued this is the best count so far. Last year, more than 1.2 million visas were issued by the US Embassy and Consulates in India. Now the record was broken as over 140,000 student visas were granted.

Until the Covid outbreak hit us India has been seeing big numbers in the visa numbers. Even after the Covid outbreak, the numbers started seeing big heights. The ongoing trend shows the good ties between India and the US. India is the big market for the US as far as international students are concerned.

On the other hand, around eight million visitor visas were issued for business and tourism purposes. These numbers are said to be the highest so far in the past few years.
