Handbag or purse became almost like a body part for most women. It is almost impossible to find women without a handbag. Be it shopping or casual outing they always carry a handbag. If we ask anyone what women would carry in those bags they say money or other things.

However, a recent report found that women carry condoms in purses. Around 3 percent of women said that they carry condoms and the reason they cited was safe sex. They reportedly said that to have safe sex they are carrying condoms.

Indian society has been conservative in nature for a very long time. But we are slowly moving away from the image. The Western influence is quite evident on many issues including the lifestyle. Earlier we had relationships and it's the trend of situationships now. Youth is not taking a backstep from having casual relationships.

With this, the girls are said to be focusing more on safe sex. As a safety measure, they are carrying condoms. The younger generation might be influenced by the West. However, society is yet to accept this, and girls are easily judged. To escape this they might be going for this.

Escaping from being judged by society is one thing and being unable to face the family if they get pregnant without getting married is one thing. When girls get married before marriage then they cannot face the family members. The families will also be judged and they have to go through a lot of moral policing.

All these factors might have led to girls carrying condoms in their purses. The good thing is that they have the awareness of having safe sex. For this, girls are carrying condoms. However, women say that they cannot easily buy condoms as they are judged.
