Wedding Season: India To Generate Rs 5.5 lakh crore Business!

The wedding season has started which will last till July second week. The months-long wedding season is slated to see lakhs of weddings across the nation. Compared to the previous wedding season, the number of weddings this season sees is quite high. In the previous wedding season around 35 lakh weddings took place.

As per the observation of the Confederation of All India Traders, around 42 lakh weddings will take place in the country in the current season. In return, the weddings will create a massive business of Rs 5.50 lakh crores.

To give an example of the massive scale of the business in the season, the national capital Delhi would see a whopping Rs 1.5 lakh crores. With around 4 lakh weddings Delhi would see a big amount in business.

The trade body said that the lion's share of expenditure that goes into weddings goes into the third-party agencies' payments. For the unversed, third-party agencies will be involved in arranging various ceremonies for the weddings. They plan everything from A to Z and charge their services.

Weddings are lifetime memories for Indians and they spend big amounts on them. It is no wonder that the wedding season sees a massive business. Based on their financial situation they make the expenditure. Certain weddings would be in the cap of over R 1 crore.

During the wedding season, people buy clothes, jewelery, ornaments, decoration items, and others. The season would shower money on various sectors in the country. The concerned sectors are all set to face the big season.

The wedding venues would also be in high demand. Banquet halls, parks, farmhouses, and open areas are booked by the families based on the size of the attendees. Special arrangements would be made for the weddings in these places.
