India Would Have Won WC If Final Not Played In Ahmedabad: EX-CM!

India’s ICC trophy drought only extended as the Indian team lost the finals to Australia. India entered the tournament as favourites as we are the hosts and the Indian team is very well aware of the pitches and conditions here. But these factors did not turn out in our favour in the finals.

Indian fans are still unable to digest the fact that the team that was unbeaten throughout the tournament lost in the finals. Adding fuel to this, the defeat in the finals took a political turn with the opposition parties targeting the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.

Joining the force Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav said that India would have won the finals had the match been played in Lucknow. The former Chief Minister said that if the finals was played in Lucknow instead of Ahmedabad India would have won the match.

Adding further he said that if the final was played in Lucknow the team would have got the blessings of many including Lord Vishnu and BJP stalwart Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

"The match that took place in Gujarat, if it had happened in Lucknow, they (team India) would have got the blessings of so many... If the match had happened there (Lucknow), team India would have got the blessings of Lord Vishnu and Atal Bihari Vajpayee and India would have won...," he said.

It has to be mentioned here that the opposition leaders are slamming the BJP for picking Ahmedabad stadium for the finals when there are many other stadiums in the country. Rahul Gandhi took a step ahead and said that a Bad omen led to our defeat. However, the Gandhi scion did not take any names.

Joining the row, the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, the largest state in the country, made key comments. He said that the finals would have been won by the Indian team had the match played in Lucknow.
