It is already known that an Indian aircraft had sustained severe turbulence and underwent significant damage in air and had to make an emergency landing due to the prevailing weather conditions.

It turns out that Pakistan Airways had a significant role to play in this whole fiasco as they refused permission to land in their airspace.

Going into the story, on May 21, 2025, IndiGo flight 6E-2142 from Delhi to Srinagar experienced a terrifying ordeal when it encountered severe turbulence over Amritsar due to an unexpected hailstorm.

Carrying over 220 passengers, including members of the Trinamool Congress, the flight faced extreme weather conditions that caused panic onboard.

In a desperate attempt to avoid the storm, the pilot requested emergency access to Pakistani airspace from Lahore Air Traffic Control. However, the request was denied, forcing the aircraft to fly through the dangerous weather.

Passengers described the experience as harrowing, with some reporting that luggage compartments flew open and bags were tossed around the cabin.

A viral video captured the chaos, with passengers screaming and the plane shaking violently. The aircraft suffered damage, especially to its nose cone, but the pilots successfully landed it at Srinagar Airport around 6:30 PM. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
