The government of India and the civil aviation department were under the constant pressure from the Sabarimala Ayyappa pilgrims as their requested the authorities to allow the sacred Irumudi on the cabin luggage in flights.

There has been this growing demand to allow the commute of Sabarimala pilgrims along with the sacred Irumudi along with them on the flight to the holy Sabarimala temple.

In connection with this, the civil aviation minister of India, Ram Mohan Naidu has shared an interesting bit of information as he said he is pleased to announce an important decision taken for the convenience and spiritual comfort of Ayyappa devotees undertaking the holy pilgrimage to Sabarimala.

“Understanding the deep sentiments attached to the sacred Irumudi, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has decided to permit devotees to carry it with them on flights, ensuring their traditional practices remain uninterrupted. All necessary security aspects are being adhered to, while fully respecting the sentiments of the people.” Rammohan Naidu tweeted earlier.
