Kerala faced a double blow with heavy rainfall and landslides hitting back to back. So far over 150 people are said to have died while a few others went missing. The rescue agencies are busy with the rescue operation to help the victims. Despite a rain fall alert the rescue operation is not stopped.

Now Union Home Minister Amit Shah made sensational comments on the Kerala government. He alleged that the Union Government warned the state government of the natural disasters and despite this, the government did not take the required measures.

Amit Shah said that the Kerala government was warned about the possible landslides a week before and NDRF teams were sent to the state. Saying that the state government did not evacuate people in advance. He also said that the deaths would have been reduced had the government taken action.

Adding further Amit Shah said that only a few countries can sense the natural disasters in advance and India is among them. With this, the government was informed in advance on this and even after this, no measures were taken.

What the Home Minister said came as a big shock to one and all. Kerala has been facing a tough time for the past few days with rainfall followed by landslides. Prayers are pouring in for the state in this tough time. Amid this Amit Shah said that the state government was warned already.

His comments in Rajya Sabha started a debate on whether the Kerala government was warned in advance about the landslides and had the situation not been that serious whether the measures were taken in time. Let us wait and see what the Kerala government would say on this.
