Indian space agency Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is enjoying its success streak. It is carrying out successful missions and scripting history. ISRO’s lunar mission was successful as Chandrayaan-3 landed on the moon’s space. ISRO recently shot the Aditya-L1 spacecraft into space to explore the sun. Aditya-L1 marks the first Solar mission of India.

Now ISRO is on the verge of exploring the oceans. The mission to explore the ocean is named Samudrayaan Mission. A submersible named 'MATSYA 6000' is being developed at the Institute of Ocean Technology in Chennai. This is dubbed as the first manned Deep Ocean Mission of India.

The submersible is being developed in a way that it can carry three people and will have all the required equipment to explore the deep sea. The mission aims at exploring the sea and studying biodiversity assessment.

Minister of Earth Sciences Kiren Rijiju shared details of the mission and said that it is part of the 'Blue Economy' vision of PM Narendra Modi. The mission studies the sea and explores it for the economic growth of the country. But the ecosystem will not be disturbed.

The mission will have three people onboard, two lying prostrate and one operator. The Union Minister visited the Institute and inspected the submersible and sat in it. He and two others sat in the vehicle and looked at the facilities there.

“Next is "Samudrayaan" This is 'MATSYA 6000' submersible under construction at National Institute of Ocean Technology at Chennai. India’s first manned Deep Ocean Mission ‘Samudrayaan’ plans to send 3 humans in 6-km ocean depth in a submersible, to study the deep sea resources and biodiversity assessment,” the Minister said.
