Indian Space and Research Organisation (ISRO) which scripted history with a successful lunar mission recently launched a solar mission. Indians are hopeful that ISRO will also pull off the Solar mission successfully as it did with Chandrayaan-3. However, ISRO is now in the news for an unfortunate news.

As per the media reports that are doing rounds, scientist N Valarmathi who has been the popular voice behind the countdown of the launches the ISRO makes breathed her last. It is said heart attack is the reason behind the lady journalist’s sudden and unexpected demise that left the country in shock.

Though ISRO did not make any official announcement on this, condolence messages are pouring in on social media. The news caught everyone’s attention when the former ISRO director Dr PV Venkitakrishnan condoled her death.

“The voice of Valarmathi Madam will not be there for the countdowns of future missions of ISRO from Sriharikotta. Chandrayan 3 was her final countdown announcement. An unexpected demise. Feel so sad. Pranams!" the ex-director said.

As the lady scientist passed away we will not hear her voice in countdowns for future projects. ISRO might find a replacement for her. But she will always be remembered for her contribution. Over the years, she was part of various projects in ISRO. Leaving a big legacy, Valarmathi breathed her last.

Valarmathi hails from Tamil Nadu and was born on 31 July 1959. Her association with ISRO started in 1984. During her stint, she was part of many ISRO projects. Valarmathi served as the project director of RISAT-1, which is the first indigenously-developed Radar Imaging Satellite (RIS) of the country.

She won the prestigious Abdul Kalam Award for her contribution to her field. What makes the special is that she is the first recipient to bag the award, which was started by the Tamil Nadu government to honour former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam

ISRO’s successful Chandrayaan-3 is the last mission of Valarmathi. When ISRO launched the Solar mission, she was not seen at the Indian Space Centre. Now the news of her sudden demise came out leaving one and all shocked.
