Is This The Reality Of Bathukamma Sarees?

The youngest state in the country Telangana saw a power change in the recent elections. In the elections, the opposition Congress came to power and the two-time winner BRS slipped to the opposition. It's been less than two months since the new government was formed.

The Congress party is not given enough time to settle in by the BRS as the party leaders are not leaving any stone to attack the government. Earlier, BRS said that it would give some time for the new government to style in. But the reality was different.

Be it KTR or Harish Rao, they are targeting the Congress party on every possible issue. Recently former IT Minister KTR wrote to the state government to look into the problems faced by the powerloom weavers of Sircilla and address them.

However, it was reportedly found that the Bathukamma Sarees bills were not cleared and around Rs 250 crore of bills are yet to be cleared. Sircilla is the constituency represented by KTR and the weavers in the seat are yet to get the bills.

This raised doubts about the reality of Bathukamma sarees. The BRS government took the Bathukamma sarees prestigiously and no one can forget the campaign the party did. The party proudly campaigned this that for the Bathukamma festival, they are giving sarees to women.

Even ads were given in big newspapers on the Bathukamma sarees saying that the government is giving gifts to the women on the eve of the festival. But the harsh reality is that the BRS government did not clear the bills worth around Rs 250 crores.
