Is This Why Chandrababu Is Desperate For Alliance With BJP?

Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu is desperate for an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is trying hard to please the party which has less than half a percent vote share in the state. While no one knows what happened at the meeting with Amit Shah in Delhi, he kept silent all these days. Suddenly he announced the combined list of 118 candidates along with Janasena.

In the list, the Janasena was allocated a mere share of seats. The Janasena leadership appears to be satisfied with this. There is a big debate on how many seats the BJP would get. Many say that as the BJP party is strong and wants to come to power at the Centre once again the 1/3rd seats were kept aside for the party.

Out of the 175 seats in AP, 118 seats were announced, Chandrababu kept 57 seats aside. It is said that Chandrababu is ready to allot the number of seats the BJP wants. Many say that keeping the seats aside is an example that the seat-sharing episode with BJP is not concluded.

BJP is not strong in AP. But Chandrababu Naidu is ready to allot the number of seats the BJP wants. As TDP cannot win the elections alone, Chandrababu Naidu is said to be showing interest in walking with BJP. TDP’s final list will be announced only after the BJP’s seats are allocated. This is the sad state of the party.

TDP was not in such a position earlier. The party is behaving like this as if it doesn’t want to go to elections alone. As a result, TDP is ready to allot as many seats the BJP wants and hence 57 seats were reserved.

On one hand, Chandrababu Naidu has been saying that it’s game over for the YCP and they have no competition in AP. He even said that TDP and Janasena joining hands for alliance decided YCP’s defeat. When they are very strong then why the total candidates list was not released is the question many have.

There are a few doubts about whether Chandrababu is ready to give a large number of seats to BJP if it wants. The way TDP is focusing on alliances shows its inefficiency, say many. TDP getting ready to give a big number of seats to BJP shows TDP’s fear.

The alliance should be beneficial for the two sides. However, the way TDP is behaving is a shock to many as it is not following the alliance rules. Looking at the list there are doubts on whether TDP would contest in at least 120 seats.

There is a popular proverb which says there will be no murders in politics except for suicides. The way TDP is trying hard for alliance with BJP proves this. We will get clarity on whether Chandrababu Naidu’s idea will work or not.
