The Layoffs Trend Continues: 21K Employees Receive Pink Slip!

Things are not going well with the IT employees as the companies across the globe are continuing the layoffs. The trend is going on even in 2024 which is very concerning for the employees. Just four months into the year, layoffs were recorded in big numbers which is a big shock.

As per the information that is coming, in four months of 2024 around 78,572 employees were sacked across the world. This happened with over 200 companies including the big names going for sackings.

Going by the data shared by The Indian Express, around 271 companies sacked 78,572 employees so far. What’s even more concerning is that 21,473 employees were sacked in April alone. A big share of employees lost their jobs in just one month.

Companies like Tesla, Apple,Getir and others sacked the employees. This talks about the global trend. It has to be mentioned here that 2024 started with a bad note as far as the layoffs are concerned with big numbers.

As many as 34,107 employees were sacked in January while February saw 15,589 layoffs. The numbers saw a big dip in March with just 7,403 sackings. Raising many fears the numbers picked up massively as 21,473 employees lost jobs across the globe. In total 78,572 employees lost their jobs in just four months.

As we say over 78,000 employees lost jobs in just four months in the year, the experts are worrying what ending the yer would have. It would not be a shock if the numbers go past the big figure.
