By: Tupaki Desk | 10 Jun 2025 6:22 PM ISTIt is already known that Sakshi media which is owned and operated by YS Jagan is now in hot waters for the recent prime program. In this particular program, a guest journalist spoke badly against Amaravati as he compared it with a brothel.
The ruling NDA government in Andhra Pradesh took serious offence to this statement and there have been several protests against the same. The main journalist associated with Sakshi media Kommineni Srinivasa Rao was already arrested.
Incidentally, there is some more serious action now as the National Commission for Women has also gotten involved.
A short while back, NCW tweeted about the incident and they were fairly clear with their approach.
“The Commission has taken suo motu cognizance of media reports on alleged derogatory remarks made by journalist V.V.R. Krishnam Raju against Amaravati women during a TV debate. Referring to Amaravati as a “capital of prostitutes” is an outrageous insult to women farmers
NCW strongly condemns such unacceptable and inciting statements in public discourse. The Chairperson Smt Vijaya Rahatkar has written a letter to the DGP of Andhara Pradesh directing him a swift and time-bound investigation, and strict action against Mr. Raju under relevant laws.A detailed action taken report has been sought from the concerned authorities within 3 days, it has been communicated.
