Official: Jagan Announces Pada Yatra 2.0!

The former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Reddy has made the biggest announcement in the recent political history in Andhra Pradesh as he announced his Pada Yatra 2.0.

YSR Congress Party president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has officially announced his decision to undertake Padayatra 2.0, marking a renewed effort to reconnect directly with people at the grassroots level.

Speaking to party leaders and workers, Jagan said the foot march will begin in about one and a half years and that he plans to spend extensive time on the roads interacting closely with the public. He made it clear that the party’s future strategy will focus on staying among people rather than limiting itself to offices and meetings.

This announcement brings back memories of Jagan’s landmark Praja Sankalpa Yatra, conducted between 2017 and 2019. During that historic journey, he walked over 3,600 kilometers across Andhra Pradesh, meeting lakhs of citizens and listening to their problems village by village. That padayatra is widely seen as a turning point that helped YSRCP come to power in the 2019 elections.

After the party’s setback in the 2024 Assembly elections, Padayatra 2.0 is being viewed as a crucial political move to rebuild public trust, energise the cadre, and take on the current ruling alliance. Party insiders say the yatra will focus on highlighting past welfare initiatives while raising public issues under the present government. With this announcement, Andhra Pradesh politics is once again expected to heat up in the coming months.
