The recently announced results can be seen as a massive blow to YCP. The YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led party suffered a big defeat. Losing elections is one thing and missing the opposition status is another thing. No one would have predicted that YCP would suffer a humiliating defeat.

After facing a humiliating defeat, Jagan appeared before the media and gave his views on the defeat. He became emotional. There are many questions about the big defeat and the reasons that might have played a role in this.

It is said that Jagan chaired a key meeting with YCP leaders on the defeat. This is dubbed as the first meeting after the defeat. The main agenda behind the meeting is to discuss the reasons and introspect.

Candidates who won and lost also attended the meeting. It is said that the likes of Kodali Nani, Perni Nani, Vellampalli Srinivas, and Devineni Avinash gave their thoughts on the reason behind the defeat.

After the defeat, a few leaders shed light on the role Volunteers played in this. The Volunteer system was brought by Jagan to help take the fruits of the schemes to the beneficiaries. However, this had cut the connection between the legislators and people as Volunteers took care of everything.

The leaders might have highlighted such aspects in the meeting. What is more concerning to the YCP is that even in the strong zones like Nellore and Rayalaseema the alliance dominated the seats. Barring Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, all the other Ministers lost the elections. This speaks volumes about the impact of the defeat.

Another main reason the observers say is that Jagan not meeting the people except before the campaign played a key role. There should be a good connection between the people and the leader.
