Then YS, Now Jagan: Opposition Allies To Face Them!

The filmmakers prefer creating strong characters as the antagonists. If we look at the recent films we can understand this. The logic they give is that the more powerful the villain is, the hero character gets more elevation. This is true. By defeating the mighty villains, the hero gets applauded and celebrated.

This is a tried and tested formula in films. It looks like we are seeing similar scenes in Andhra Pradesh politics as well. To take on the ruling YSRCP the opposition parties are coming under one roof which is proof that the Jagan Mohan Reddy-led party is very strong and powerful.

Looking at the ongoing political picture in Andhra Pradesh it resembles the 2009 situation. To face the Congress party led by YSR, the opposition parties joined hands. However, they cannot win despite collective efforts.

TDP+TRS+CPI+CPM formed a grand alliance against the Congress. On the other hand, Megastar Chiranjeevi started his Praja Rajyam party. The picture back then was such that Chiranjeevi was projected as the CM. The Kapu community walked with Chiranjeevi. But these aspects could not stop YSR from reaching the Chief Minister post.

The YSR-led Congress party not only won the second term but also played a key role in helping the UPA come to power. Congress won 33 seats and the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh acknowledged the role. The Congress party recorded a landslide victory and pushed the grand alliance into opposition.

The Congress party won 157 out of 294 Assembly seats while the TDP, TRS, and left were restricted to 106 seats. Praja Rajyam won 18 seats. The opposition could not win the elections.

History Repeats:

As they say history repeats, similar scenes are taking place in Andhra Pradesh. With identical situations many say that the results will also be similar to what happened in 2009.

Looking at the current situation, TDP and Janasena joined hands. Massive efforts are going on to see that the BJP will also be a part of the alliance as happened in 2014. Chandrababu, Pawan Kalyan, and AP BJP Chief Daggubati Purandeswari are trying hard to take BJP along with TDP and Jana Sena. They will not shy away from taking the communists with them too.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is very confident in power. He is very clear that he will go to elections alone and his alliance is with only the people. YSRCP followers and activists are working hard for the win at the ground level.
