Jagan steps in to douse Gannavaram fires, Meets Dutta

It appears YS Jagan Mohan Reddy himself has stepped into douse the fires of dissidence in Gannavaram assembly constituency. He has invited the family of Dutta Ramachandra Rao' a strong local leader to Tadepalli and held talks with him. The idea behind the meet is to ensure that no leader worth the while leaves the party along with rebel leader Yarlagadda Venkat Rao.

Venkat Rao' who had fought on the YSRCP ticket and lost to Vallabhaneni Vamsi' has been fretting and fuming ever since the later joined the YSRCP. Unsure of getting a party ticket' he has decided to part ways with the YSRCP. Accordingly' he announced recently that he would join the TDP. He had also announced that more local leaders would follow him.

Alarmed by this development' Jagan invited another key leader and ticket aspirant Dutta Ramachandra Rao to his Tadepalli office. He convinced Dutta to stay back in the party. He is also said to have spoken to other key leaders and asked them not to leave the party. In fact' Dutta has said that he has full confidence in Jagan’s leadership and that there was no question of his leaving the party.

The YSRCP has planned to give the ticket to Vallabhaneni Vamsi. Vallabhaneni is quite close to former minister Kodali Nani. It was this friendship that ensured that Vamsi left the TDP and joined the YSRCP. This would be the third time Vamsi would be contesting from Gannavaram constituency
