Nothing is permanent in Politics and situations can change at any time. YSRCP is the best example of this

In 2019 the party won 151 seats and went to elections with the slogan of Why Not 175. The party was confident of winning all the 175 seats in the state. But the reality was quite different.
YCP which wanted to win 175 seats is not fighting for opposition party status. Party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is on a mission of getting the opposition status. When YCP was in power Jagan said that if he opens the door then TDP would not be the opposition party in the state and now he is dealing with the same situation.
Earlier he had written to the Assembly Speaker seeking the opposition status. With no positive response, he knocked on the doors of the High Court. He sought directives from the Court to get the status. Hearing the petition the High Court gave key orders.
In what could be a big development in the case the High Court served notices to Assembly Speaker and Secretariats. The Court ordered the rule position to be submitted before them. The next hearing was adjourned for three weeks and issued directives to file a counter.
It is known that the ruling TDP has been saying that YCP cannot get the opposition status due to the seats it won. On the other hand, YCP is saying that there is no rule that one party should get 10 percent of seats to get the opposition status. He cited a few examples where the parties were given opposition status. He took the matter to the High Court.
