His visit is criticized by the Western media questioning how India can maintain good ties with Russia which waged war against Ukraine.

When many nations including the United States tried to force India to vote against Russia and stop buying oil from it we did not take a back step and maintained the relations.
The Western media tried to put pressure on India. But External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar did not hold back and showed the Western media on its double standards and said Europe is buying more oil than India but no one talks about this.
Earlier in December Jaishankar visited Russia and discussed many contemporary issues. His visit is criticized by the Western media questioning how India can maintain good ties with Russia which waged war against Ukraine. Now the Minister reacted to the criticism and made some key comments.
The Minister said that India should have a thoughtful approach when it comes to maintaining ties with other nations. Talking about ties with Russia he said that the ties between the two nations are beneficial and steady.
When asked about the criticism from the Western media about the tries with Russia the Minister said that his mind games appear to be working as people cannot read him. "If people can't read me, that means my mind games are working," he said.
People say that this is the fierce response that came from the Minister to the criticism. The firebrand Minister has been proving his image by not falling into the trap of the Western media. Many times he made India's stand on various issues strongly. Yet again he did this in reacting to the criticism.
Russia and India have been maintaining good ties for many decades. Keeping this in mind, India did not vote against Russia when the US tabled a resolution in the UN against it. With India not following the advice of the West the Western Media is expressing its anger this way.
