A tragic terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, has left the entire nation in deep sorrow. On April 22, 2025, armed terrorists opened fire on a group of tourists visiting the Baisaran Valley, often called "mini Switzerland" for its scenic beauty. The attack took place around 3 PM and targeted innocent civilians. According to reports, at least 27 people have died including one foreign national. Many injured victims are from Gujarat and Karnataka.

A horrifying video from the scene showed people lying on the ground, bleeding, while others cried and searched for their loved ones. Locals and tourists were left in panic. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals, and doctors confirmed that 12 people are being treated and are currently stable.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha rushed to Srinagar to assess the situation. A high-level meeting with security forces is underway. An extensive search operation has been launched to find the attackers, with the Army, CRPF, and local police involved.

Leaders across the country, including Rahul Gandhi and Supriya Sule, condemned the attack and demanded strong action. International support also poured in, with Argentina and Israel standing with India in the fight against terrorism.

J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed his grief and said the full details are still being confirmed. He called it one of the worst attacks on civilians in recent years.

The government has also issued helpline numbers for those seeking information about their relatives. The nation mourns this tragic loss and the people stand united against terror.
