Jammu And Kashmir Elections: How BJP Is Preparing For Polls?
BJP might release the candidates list in a phased manner so that it can work on the negative feedback.
By: Tupaki Desk | 26 Aug 2024 8:01 AM GMTAs we were done with the general elections the focus is on the Kashmir elections which marks the first elections since Article 370 was scrapped. In what can be seen as a historic yet daring step the BJP scrapped the article in its second term. A few opposition parties opposed this. But the BJP was unmoved and stood firm on its decision.
BJP earlier released a list of 44 candidates. However, it did not take much time for the saffron party to change its decision. The list has been revised and only 15 names were mentioned in the new list. It is said that due to criticism the party leadership might have done it.
Reports say that names like BJP J&K President Ravinder Raina, former Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh, and senior leader Kavinder Gupta were missing in the first list.
However, the same names were missing in the second list too. Experts say that the BJP might release the candidates list in a phased manner so that it can work on the negative feedback.
Everyone knows how prestigious the elections are for the BJP. It had scrapped Article 370. Other parties did not dare think about this but the BJP scrapped it and passed the bill. The upcoming elections mark the first election after Article 370 was scrapped.
BJP is putting in its best efforts as far as the elections are concerned. With this, the list was removed and a new list was announced for 15 seats.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Home Affairs made a big decision to add five more districts in Ladakh which takes the total districts in Ladakh to seven.
Zanskar, Drass, Sham, Nubra, and Changthang are the new districts in Ladakh. Ladakh already has Leh and Kargil districts.
Amit Shah said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a vision to build a developed and prosperous Ladakh and having new districts will take the benefits meant for the people to their doorsteps. He made the announcement on social media.
