Jana Sena endorses bigger role for Brahmani in TDP?

All indications are that Nara Lokesh Babu’s wife and Balakrishna’s daughter Nara Brahmani could step into political shoes anytime soon. Now that Chandrababu is behind the bars and Lokesh is firmly ensconced in Delhi, there is a clear void in the TDP in Andhra Pradesh and it needs a recognizable face to reach out to the people. The TDP thinking heads feel this could be none other than Brahmani herself.

Brahmani has the experience of handling NTR bhavan and NTR trust and knows several senior functionaries well. She is also said to be involved in the affairs of the Heritage. Her political appearances have never happened. But the party leaders feel that Brahmani’s entry could galvanise the party, which is now down in the dumps especially after the arrest of Chandrababu.

Meanwhile, the Jana Sena too has reportedly agreed to support Nara Brahmani if she undertakes the yatra across the state. On Saturday, several Jana Sena leaders, led by former MLC Kandula Durgesh met her and held discussions about the political situation in the state. They are said to have extended their support to her.

The TDP insiders strongly feel that it could certainly take a while for the release of Chandrababu Naidu. At the same time, the long absence of both Chandrababu and Lokesh could demoralize the cadres. Hence, Brahmani should step into the shoes and launch the yatra that her husband was forced to abandon midway.
