Joe Root's Unstoppable Drive to Break Sachin Tendulkar's Record

Joe Root who is one of England’s finest cricketers is increasingly driven by the ambition to break Sachin Tendulkar’s long standing record of the most Test runs. This statement was made by his teammate Ollie Pope who believes that Root’s hunger for success will push him to become the number one run scorer in Test cricket.

Root recently achieved a remarkable milestone scoring his 38th Test century against India in Manchester, which allowed him to surpass legendary cricketers such as Rahul Dravid, Jacques Kallis and Ricky Ponting making him the second highest run scorer in Test history. At present, he has accumulated 13,409 runs, just 2,500 behind Tendulkar’s tally of 15,921 runs. While Root’s 38 centuries are impressive, Tendulkar’s record of 51 Test tons remains a far-reaching target.

Despite this, Pope has no doubts about Root’s ability to challenge these records, given his recent form, with 21 centuries in the past four years alone. Pope expressed confidence that Root would continue to chase the number one spot marking his deep love for Test cricket and his determination to keep playing as long as his body allows.
