When such is the situation in the rest of the world, the United States took a big decision on Marijuana, and the call taken by United States President Joe Biden is dubbed as the biggest reform as far as drugs are concerned.
In what could be good news for Marijuana lovers, the United States took a big decision to reclassify Marijuana. Under the federal law, it was changed to Schedule 3 from Schedule 1. This is a major step as the category was changed at once.
Federal Law says Schedule -1 is the most dangerous drug while Schedule-3 is a less dangerous drug. Joe Biden announced the big news on his social media. With a big poster, the serving United States President Joe Biden announced this.
Joe Biden even dubbed this is another big step to fix the failed approach to marijuana. He even released a video message on this and how reclassifying marijuana is the need of the hour.
“At my request, and guided by science and evidence, HHS and DOJ have studied the drug's medical use and abuse and dependency potential and are recommending rescheduling – concluding reclassification would remove barriers to critical research,” Joe Biden said.
Joe Biden has been working on this for some time. During the campaign for the last elections, Biden said that he would work on decriminalising cannabis use. Cut to four years, a big step was taken. Observers feel that the decision might have an impact on the upcoming Presidential polls.
