When we talk about legislators we get a typical image of them having a big convoy involving SUVs. Not just the Ministers, a few MLAs also follow it sometimes given their massive wealth. However, we get to see contrasting scenes to what we see regularly.

In one such incident, a newly elected MLA became the talk of the town as he traveled hundreds of kilometers to reach the Assembly on a bike. That too the bike belongs to his friend. After reaching the Assembly he had to show the documents as an MLA to enter the house.

This incident happened in Madhya Pradesh which is among the five states that went for elections and the results were out. A candidate who comes from a humble background has no personal vehicle and he borrowed a friend's vehicle to reach the Assembly.

Kamleshwar Dodiyar who comes from a daily wage family was elected as an MLA in the recent polls. He lives in the Sailana constituency which he won. The state Assembly is in Bhopal which is around 350 kilometers from his place.

With no personal vehicle, he borrowed a bike from his friend and covered the long distance. He reached the Assembly with an MLA sticker on it and showed the documents to the police there.

His story became the talk of the town as people were lauding the MLA for the serious efforts he put in to reach the Assembly despite the long distance.

He contested the elections from the Bharatiya Adivasi Party as an MLA candidate. The MLA comes from a humble background; he even borrowed money from others for campaigning activities.
