Beware Abbailu: Instagram DM Can Go To Court Case!

In this modern day and era, it is becoming increasingly common for the younger generation to indulge in romantic activities on social media. People are connecting with each other easily through social media platforms, and this is having a good side and a bad side as well.

For now, let us have a brief discussion about this one particular student from Karnataka, who sent an Instagram DM to his classmate and he ended up facing the legal consequences of the same.

Incidentally, this student had sent a private Instagram message to his female classmate, which immediately triggered the girl and she filed a court case. However, the judgement that was followed here is very interesting.

The Karnataka High Court quashed an FIR against a student who called a classmate “pretty” in an Instagram DM, saying that Gen Z language in a private chat cannot be criminalised.

It was lucky for the boy that the Karnataka High Court was considerate enough of this scenario. But if the court had decided against this side of things and decided to teach him a lesson, then could have been severe consequences.

So this is a crucial reminder for the current generation youth to be extremely cautious about what they are saying on social media as a simple court case can land them in big trouble. Their entire future can be absolutely ruined if they are not careful enough.

This is a tough message to all the younger population out there, and they must be extremely careful about what they are putting out on social media as this can be used against them in the court of law.
