What's Happening Really? HIV Tests For College Kids?

One of the under current problems in the Indian society over the last few tickets has been the rapid rise in the number of HIV positive cases. Previously, this used to be a problem in the rural areas of India, but this has shifted to the urban set up as well.

Now the government of Karnataka has taken a pretty big decision where they have mandated HIV tests and also related education camps to college kids on a regular basis.

With over 56,000 people in Karnataka estimated to be unaware of their HIV status, the Karnataka State AIDS Prevention Society has launched a statewide awareness campaign across colleges, universities and workplaces.

The latest shocking developments are suggesting that as many as 7000 students had tested positive for HIV in Karnataka alone in recent years, and this is as detrimental as it can get.

Subsequently, the government of Karnataka has collectively decided to hold HIV tests and also education campaigns regarding this disease in the engineering and government colleges across the state.

This test is not going to be a mandatory procedure for all students, but it will be enforced at a large capacity. The most important thing is that students must be educated about what is the consequence of this disease and also the kind of prevention measures that can be taken.

This might sound extremely objectionable on paper, but this is socially aware campaign by the government and perhaps be enforced across the country as well.

There have been several complaints about the romantic relationships of students and younger generation people in India over the last decade. So these educational measures are going to come a long way in educating the common folk and keeping them aware.
