After Telangana, Protocol Issues Now Hit Karnataka!

The Union government and the state governments have a big role to play in democracy and both governments should work together. However, we are hearing a lot about protocol issues of late. Earlier, we have seen how CM KCR missed welcoming Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

However, the issue became a protocol issue when the BJP accused the Telangana Government of not respecting the PM. The BRS government hit back saying that the CMO was instructed by the PMO to not be present when the PM landed in Hyderabad. A war of words happened between the parties on this.

Now a similar thing happened in neighbouring Karnataka. It is known that ISRO successfully landed Chandrayaan-3 on the moon's surface and scripted history. Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Karnataka to congratulate the ISRO chairman and scientists on the special occasion.

But the issue landed in controversy as the Karnataka BJP leaders questioned why none from the government came to welcome the Prime Minister. An intense war of words happened between the BJP and the Congress.

Giving e new version to this, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shiva Kumar said that they were ready to welcome the PM, but the state Chief Secretary was directed that the CM and Deputy CM should not be present and hence the directives were followed. Me and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah would have been present there, he said.

"We are well aware of the protocol and we have enough political knowledge on how to respect whom. PM had come to the state for the first time since Congress came to power, to honor ISRO scientists for their success of Chandrayaan 3," DK Shivakumar was quoted by a few media houses.
