In connection with the Delhi Liquor scam, she was sent to ED remand. All eyes were on the Court to see what happens next as the remand tenure. The Court gave key orders in the case.
She was produced before the Rouse Avenue court. While the ED lawyers sought custody, her lawyers placed the arguments saying that she should be given bail. After hearing arguments of both sides the Court sent Kavitha to judicial custody till April 9.
It has to be mentioned here that Kavitha has been saying she is innocent in the case and the case is fabricated. Even before entering the Court, she said the same. She said that the case was not a money laundering case but a political laundering case.
Kavitha said that she had nothing to do with the case and she would walk out as a clean pearl. Saying that they can send her to jail temporarily but they cannot hinder her self-confidence. Kavitha also said that she would not turn approver.
To back the arguments that the case is a political laundering case Kavitha said that one of the accused joined the BJP already and another accused donated Rs 50 crores to the BJP. One accused might get a ticket, she said. Since the initial days, Kavitha has been saying that she is innocent and the case is framed.
The big twist came with the arrest of Kavitha. As if that is not enough Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was also arrested making him the first sitting Chief Minister in the country to get arrested.
