BJP MP Khagen Murmu took part in the campaign. He kissed a girl on her cheek. The ruling TMC launched a big attack on the BJP and the MP and also took a dig at the Nari Ka Samman slogan of BJP.

The TMC said that the BJP is known for anti-women politicians and gave examples of women wrestlers facing harassment and making objectionable songs about Bengali women. It also cited a recent example.

On the other hand, Khagen Murmu made sensational comments on the issue and said that they were trying to create an issue out of nothing and he killed the woman like a child. Even the girl is also said to have made similar comments.
