By: Tupaki Desk | 29 Jun 2026 5:01 PM ISTIt is already known that Iran has lost its supreme leader in the form of Ayatollah Khamenei due to the unrelenting warfare set in motion by the United States of America and Israel. This has resulted in a very complex situation in Iran and understandably so as well.
In the meanwhile, the final rights of Khamenei are going to be held later this week, and several countries across the global likely to have their representation at the same.
In this connection, India has also taken a pretty significant decision as they have finalised the list of dignitaries who would be representing the country at these final rites in Iran.
The Indian government has collectively decided that Bihar Governor Lt Gen Syed Ata Hasnain & MoS Pabitra Margherita will be send to represent India at Khamenei Funeral this week.
This is going to be a pretty significant display of global harmony from India as several countries are likely to stay away from attending this ceremony in Iran. So what would be doing would stand against the choices of several countries like the United States, Israel, and others who have a significant role in global politics.
But at the same time, India had been maintaining very good relationship with Iran for the last few years, and they have to honour the same by attending these formalities this week. So this is a diplomatic decision for the Indian authorities at this point.
