Rishi Sunak who was made the United Kingdom faced a big shock in his political career. In the first election as the UK PM his party lost. Not just defeat, the party recorded the biggest defeat in its history. The Conservative Party has been in power for 14 years and lost the elections.

Labour Party chief Keir Starmer is set to become the Prime Minister and defeated Rishi Sunak’s party. In four years after becoming the party chief he took it to a big win. He had an interesting journey in politics.

He is a former lawyer who won a prestigious award during his stint in the profession. After a glorious career as a lawyer, he entered politics and became an MP twice. Cut to now he is all set to lead one of the superpower nations as the Prime Minister.

Keir Starmer hails from a simple background. He is the first person from his family to go to a University. His mother worked with the public health care system while his father was a toolmaker. He pursued law and became a lawyer.

He was appointed as the public prosecutions head. His services in prosecuting public representatives who misused the funds were so impactful that he was honored with a knighthood, an award that is given to someone who makes a valuable contribution to any sector.

His political journey started in 2015 and he won as an MP. However, his mother could not see his success as she passed away months before this. Three years later his father also passed away. He won as MP in 2019 too.

The year 2020 can be seen as a big dark period with its least performance. To come out of this the party appointed him as the chief. Keir Starmer proved his selection correct as he took his party to power after 14 long years. The seats the party won are said to be the highest in its history.
