Lalduhoma's campaign played a key role in the election result and his nature of standing strong for the interests of the state also played its part. He sends a strong message to the people that he will not take a back step from shying away from questioning the state and Central governments if needed.

The Manipur crisis became a big topic in the Mizoram campaign with the parties highlighting the same against the BJP. Ex-IAS Lalduhoma strongly raised his voice and said he would talk for the state no matter who was at the other end. Lalduhoma is likely to become the first former IAS to become the Chief Minister.
